Re: Timing belt intervals

Thanks yet again Michaela. I would always trust your experience and judgement over any other, so I’ll keep my precious S8 at the 5-6 year interval and start buying the ancillary part well ahead of the due date.

Re: Timing belt intervals

PistonHeads also reported it https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/top ... &t=2049360 so it looks legit

Timing belt intervals

I’ve seen a few reports that say “the VAG group has changed its cambelt replacement interval across the entire VAG range to no time limit and 150,000 miles”.

Is that right, even for D2 A8s and S8s?

I certainly hope so!

I had some limited success on a 2016 A4, but it still wasn’t fully functional.

VCDS doesn’t work properly on newer Audis

Hoping this is the right place to put this. If not, mods, could you move it please?

I have a VCDS HEX+CAN for many years and it still works fine on my D2 S8 and my 2008 TTS. But recently, I’ve tried it on a more recent TT and a ‘22 A4. It connects and scans but I don’t get much information and it ...

Re: Shudder from the gearbox?

Another update on this. I recently replaced on of the ‘bellows’ on the intake manifold and, not only has the fault code for the secondary air injection system gone away, so has this judder! The S8 is again running like a dream :D

Wheel replacement tool

Well, my plastic tool that came with the car (and with the TTS) is pretty knackered, so I've replaced it with this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/186948574439.

I can confirm that it fits well and appears to be very well made.
