Another reason for poor AC performance can be the servo motor for the blend flap, you can do basic setting in VCDS to calibrate it and also see which servo's are faulty and need replacing. VW Phaeton servo's are the same just different colour. (yellow plug housings on Audi, Green on Phaeton)

Good to see you have the steel uprights, I wonder how alloy ones would fair with extra 20kg added.

As a side note original alternators can be DIY refurbed for around £30 worth of parts, and if you want it looking brand new its probably another £60-80 for vapor blasting depending on where you live.

I've already added RCAs to the line out from the headunit but in the boot before it goes into the plug which connects to the Bose amp. Is this not the same thing?
