Re: My F125 journey

Somehow the mechanic in my local garage found a way to reroute and join it without any splicing!
He did take off the cable support bracket and retaining bolt, which I now have.

The second Chinesium one I have is 90mm short but Sean (in the "other" forum) says his is only about 50/60mm short and ...

Re: My F125 journey

What's the ideal solution to fitting a replacement non-OEM F125 (from China) where you find that the cable is shorter than the OEM version?

The replacements are for the 5HP19, which is smaller, so the cable is shorter than the one for the 5HP24. I presume the chinese sellers just made up the ...

Re: Menu Knob

Lift the cupholder out and then you can pry the menu control box up from underneath and lift it out. There's a connector in the bottom obvs - make sure to not lose that down the hole! Put a zip tie round it or similar so it doesn't escape.

Re: New to forum and have a fun issue with my d2

On a prefacelift misfires are almost always the ignition amplifiers which live under the trim round the air filter housing, or the ignition coils themselves. The old ones are not very reliable. The first thing to do is swap one of the coils with its neighbour and see if the misfire moves - if so ...

Re: Gearbox failure at 90,000mls

Wether I should us it or fit a brand new valve body which I have.

I'd put it in the new valve body. Best of both worlds then - you solve any other VB-related things, and the pressure valve will never wear out.

I also want to see what direction the classic car market is heading in.

I ...

Ignore it, carry on. It works perfectly well without it.

Re: It's not just the battery....

Yeah Mike bought one too. The listing is incorrect, that pump is not suitable :x Without the second outlet it won't drive the suction jets to balance the tank and you run out of fuel at 1/4 tank.

The seller Mike bought it from was extremely difficult about sending it back. Hopefully you didn't buy ...

Re: Gearbox failure at 90,000mls

I suspect your diagnosis is correct. Surprising it hasn't gone in to limp mode though. Normally slipping will cause a 'gear ratio incorrect' code which then causes limp and a thump in to drive. I would be inclined to put a MAF in it at the same time since you're so deep in to it already. The MAF is ...
