Not sure what they're made of, some sort of polymer or rubber maybe?
Mine are looking awful, rock hard and cracked. Are replacements available or has anyone 3D-printed them?
The "brackets" they impact against on the body are still fairly OK, but both blocks on the boot lid are seemingly close to breaking apart!
Do they even have a separate part number? Edit looks like 8A5827249 though 8A5827353 is also suggested in some searches.
8A5827347 seems to be the two-part lower adjustable "bracket" as I call it with 8A5827353 possibly the "inner" adjustable impact section.
Bump stops either side of the boot lid - sourcing?

Alas they are NLA now. Tradition had some a few years back but afaik they are long gone now.
They would be pretty hard to print I think as they have a metal backing with the rubber bonded to it. That structure and strength would be hard to replicate.
The upper is 8A5827249, lower adjustable bit 8A5827347.
353 is the predecessor to 347.

Thanks MJ, I'd already checked Tradition.
There seem to be some for sale in Germany, not sure if they're genuine though: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/126314926325
Look 3D printed and no evidence of a backing plate.

The German eBay listing does clearly state (in German) that they are 3D printed and have no steel core; translation:
"Installation note: Please note that these components do not contain a steel core; therefore, they should be installed using lower torque settings. Some product images are 3D renderings; the actual appearance may vary."
It also says "for Audi 80 B4 and A8 D2 up to 1998" which seems a bit odd, presumably the design hasn't changed? I'll ask them.

Positive response from the seller so I've ordered a pair. I'll look at using suitable stainless washers to reinforce the fixing.

Impossible I'd say, I've just had aa look at my worst one. It actually seems to be a metal structure with a rubberised coating, so very strong.MikkiJayne wrote: Tue Jul 14, 2026 8:12 pm They would be pretty hard to print I think as they have a metal backing with the rubber bonded to it.
BUT I think a solid, slightly flexible, 3D-printed replacement should be fine as long as the boot isn't slammed shut, which was the default with my old weak struts and probably contributed to the failure.
As I've got new gas struts on mine anyway it's easy to shut gently, so I expect they'll be fine.
