It's the same kind of system that flexible dremel shafts use, except audi decided to make theirs too long for the flex shaft inside.
Removing the crimp is a bit of a pita but doable and the fix lasts for ever.

Yes! Thank you so much, Ronin. I'll have a go at this when I fit the audio this week :D

Heating is relatively rare in the A8 standard seats. I'd say at best you have a 50/50 chance of them having the elements fitted. I would suggest checking the wiring in the seat-side connectors and seeing if you have the connections for it. We probably have the wiring diagrams on the forum, if not I can upload them.
I'll have a look and see if it's there. Be nice to have it, but not the end of the world if not. I've got some standard seats that are defo heated front and rear plus have lumbar etc etc, but the current ones are in the right colour and super perfect condition. Decisions!

We have an MOT!! Clean one at that (apart from that recall, but it's booked in)...

Took it for a run yesterday. Needs tracked which is getting done tomorrow. Headlight level switch needs reinstated because some previous clown decided LED strips were a better option :| Other than that, seems sweet!

Thank you for all the help MJ and Ronin. I'm so glad to have my big, comfy barge back in action :D

I’m a bit late to this - sorry! I’ve got a solar sun roof on a black car, so here are a few photos. As Michaela says, it just blends in.

Actually, it does look pretty low key. I may end up putting it on..... If I can face pulling the interior again
