Menu Knob

Post by Lancia 2000 »

Hello everybody
New owner, doing a bit of tidying up on my 2000 3.7. My centre consul menu knob doesn't work, so I can't access any menu items such as changing the dash date from 1999! I'd like to take the knob panel out, clean it and check connections. What is the best way to take it out without damage?
Thank you.

Lift the cupholder out and then you can pry the menu control box up from underneath and lift it out. There's a connector in the bottom obvs - make sure to not lose that down the hole! Put a zip tie round it or similar so it doesn't escape.

Thank you so much! I'll give that a go - hoping the connector hasn't already disappeared. 👍 :)

Just wondering if you’ve made the same mistake that I did when I got my first ‘8. You have to push the rectangular button labelled ‘menu’ to bring up the menu in the DIS, before the knob will work. Or perhaps it’s just me that’s this stupid!

So, I've had the knob box out and all looks spotless. Unplugged from the loom and blown everything. Still not working. Has the knob box got it's own fuse? I'm guessing it's impossible to find the other end of the wire!

You need the radio-controlled clock module! :D And yes it does know summer time is here (well mine does). :geek:

And yes, like The Laird I didn't get it at first. Press the Menu button to activate then rotate the button to navigate the menus and press it down to select.

That' my issue, pressing the Menu button has no affect. Everything is clean and connected at the Menu/knob box end - what else can be wrong?

Hello all
Now this is either good news, or an indication of my stupidity!
This morning I pressed the Menu button and the menu appeared on the screen. The screen being the one between the instruments, not the radio screen that I had been staring at for weeks!
So it's a big thank you to everyone for helping resolve my first D2 problem.
