Are the bosses longer comparatively to the spline? Hence the boss shortening? Or is it for the sake of fitting in the actual space? If it's not for the space, was just wondering if you could extend the spline shaft somehow?

Mind you, that might be way more hassle tbf. Was more thinking for the sake of an aftermarket part

The bosses are longer relative to the spindle. The geometry of the spindle relative to everything else appears to be the same. With the longer bosses, I don't think the motor will clear the bodywork, and the arm on the motor likely won't clear the mechanism.

I'll probably get the local engineering firm to cut them down. I'm not sure I've got the gear to be accurate enough. I take it the threads go down far enough? There's a used D2 unit on eBay, but I don't want to put something on thats going to either die on me, or die on someone else if I sell. No Wipers can be scary!

I was just going to use an angle grinder to cut them down :D Good point about the threads - they don't go down far enough so will need extending. Simple enough with an M6 tap.

Yeah. They look exactly the same so there should be plenty of meat on em. Not too much finessing for the sake of a brand new part. I'm ordering now. Thank you for the investigative posting!

Well, bought the motor, modded the bosses, figured out the wiring (Or at least 97% sure i did) and still no bueno. Not the relay, not the fuse by the pedals. I don't have a multimeter with me so before I go and fetch one, does anyone know of another switch/ relay/ fuse that could be the cause? I doubt it's the stalk but is that a thing that gives out? Any wild theories appreciated at this point lol

Update

Borrowed a tester from a kind neighbour. I'm getting 12v on the live at the connector..?

Does the mechanism definitely move? Did you test the motor before refitting to the mechanism?
