The rubberised coating isn't really that thick on the side that contacts the bodywork, only a mm if that. You could probably just print a shell that fitted over the metal insert and a separate thin sheet with suitable hole for the body side and glue the 3 parts together?MikkiJayne wrote: Tue Jul 28, 2026 11:42 am I've been pondering how to get the metal insert to work on a 3d printer but I think I do have a solution to that.
Take measurements of the outside then strip all the rubber off, measure the metal and reuse it as the core?
