If you're thinking of fitting a reversing camera to your RNS-D I detailed what I did in the other forum but can give you a quick summary here of what's involved for you to think about.
There are other ways of doing it than my method, obviously.

Thanks. I will get back to you if it's on the table in the future. Since the car will only be a occasional weekend car I think the normal sensors would be enough. But one is broken right now so feeling quite handicapped since I have gotten very used to having sensors or camera so having a camera as a backup is not a bad idea.

Do you have the analogue TV tuner in your LWB? If you do there are 2 different versions, the older one has convenient RCA video inputs for a camera; the later is less convenient to wire but actually has 2 inputs so could do camera and DVB-T. If yours is 2002 it's probably the later one.

The A8 parts forum is actually up now. That thread I linked to is for installing an RNS-E and reversing camera, NOT digital TV sadly.

Newer version. That's what made me think the conversion was easier. My V8 has the older one that's why I got the aftermarket kit for it.

Just different wiring for the later version, not just plugging in an aftermarket tuner. The bit about TV aerials is in that thread (about page 4) but it all relates to RNS-E and the matching TV tuner so may not be of interest. It did involve getting the back seats out and replacing parts of the TV aerial system though.

Well that seems to confirm the hybrid tuner works with later style D2 aerials right? Sand i don't think it's a issue running it to the rns-D but I may have to just get one and test.

Beyond my pay grade to adjudicate things like that.

The one with colored connectors is the hybrid and other one is the late D2 looks line the connections are close enough. Will check mine and might order a hybrid and just throw it in for testing. Will post updates

One possible issue may be the canbus since the new tuner expects signals from a rns-e.

Other people know, I don't, but from what I've read the RNS-D/D2 cannot and will not work with the tuner designed for the RNS-E/D3 because of completely different signalling/control.
That's why, I think, people either upgrade to RNS-E and use the later tuner OR use aftermarket with RNS-D (via the older tuner or directly via a converter)
