The A8 parts forum crash statistics appear to be getting worse. Are there any plans to alleviate this issue with an updated forum?

Yeah it's annoying, there's so much stuff MJ or I haven't posted because of it.
Now that we have at least one active user things might change
We have secure forums, video embedding and you can easily order parts from Audi tradition without 2x markup of prestige

tbh i wouldn't mind seeing an update thread about your barn find, how has it been since the visit at the doctor's? surely it didn't need just servicing and fuel?

I suppose migrating the full contents of the A8 forum would not be sanctioned by the sponsors?
Bit lonely in here at the moment, look forward to the postings!

The alternator noise is still present, I have a speaker fault somewhere as well (short to ground with buzzing at low base frequency) and keep toying with investigate and fix or a complete rip out, but trying to stay 'stock' although I am asking myself why!
Just never seem to find an alternative that feels right. My daily drivers for a good number of years have all been BMW and spoilt with the iDrive system.

Anything aftermarket that you connect to bose will cause the alternator noise, there are 3 options really:
Keep it 100% stock - no noise
Install an aftermarket head unit and use its crappy built in amp instead of bose - you will get a working unit with no alternator noise but average audio, you will have to re-run all the speaker cables to the head unit, a lot of work for average effect.
Install an aftermarket head unit, an amp (a 5 channel kenwood like MJ or I have) + my magic fix © and then you get an awesome audio, nice oem looking head unit with all the modern stuff like front parking camera, rear camera, DAB radio, Carplay/Aauto etc

Interesting. I guess following your thread on the A8 forum is best? The speakers need an upgrade too? Outside of the "stock" look Im dithering about the Teyes CC3 or just adding a carpuride and keeping the original installation.
Dilemma
