a B&Q soil pipe turned into a D2 strut rust and paint stripper, works pretty well: I will post more pics once struts are painted.

After 2 coats of Halfords' finest metal oxide primer.
Clear coat next and after that translucent heat shrink as an experiment. These struts have 60k miles less on them than my car so are worth the effort.

All done.

Still looking ok after 3k miles across europe, including snow.

How has the heat shrink worked over the years? I just ordered heat shrink for my new shocks. No issues with moisture or anything?

Still going strong just fine. Quality of these parts is amazing.

Great. I will probably be doing the same with with other round items. I'm thinking front shocks and the driveshafts. Maybe sway bars and prop shaft aswell.

I wouldnt put anything on the prop. Its quite sensitive to weight. Even a few grams out can cause vibrations.
