Could I swap out an ECZ for a ECY without magic, deception and trickery?

I ask because at mines at 170k and although it's showing no signs of gearbox misbehaviour, I have an ECZ that I'm about to sell and wondering if it might be prudent to hold on to it?

ECZ is an A8 gearbox, ECY is an S8 gearbox. Not compatible I'm afraid, as the final drive is different.

Well, that certainly settles it. At least I don't have to find a place to store a gearbox
