It's not just the battery....

So, since the cold snap the barge hasn't been starting. I put it down to the battery, which was defo goosed, but now it has a fresh one it's just turning and giving the occasional splutter. It was giving a P1602 code this morning. I'm imagining that was from the low power of the previous battery? I reset and tried turning again. It didn't re-throw the code or any other codes at all. Still didn't start though
Not sure where to start tbh. I've disconnected the battery for a bit, but I doubt that will help as I don't think the ECU's on D2's need coded/reset after battery swaps, do they?
Any suggestions of likely candidates appreciated, before the goose chase commences

Was the car sitting around for long with less than full tank? Put in more than half a tank and see if it starts

Omg, I hate that job
I did it a while back but I fitted a used one that I had to see if it was that. Turned out to be the alternator, but I guess that used one was in worse shape than mine
If I'm going to go to the nonsense of rebuilding the housing again, I'll put a new OE pump in. Pretty sure I remember them being fairly cheap? I saw a post that Ronin put up about housing rebuild (had a horrible feeling someone would say fuel pump), so I'll get ferreting about for fresh o-rings, washers etc armed with the correct spec's

Were you thinking dying fuel pump too, Ronin?

Yes, but if it starts with more than half a tank, its failed o-rings usually.

On the pump assembly itself? It's got a little less than half a tank atm, but hasn't sat for any length of time like that. Maybe 3 days. Other than that tanks been full.
*3 days before not starting

In that case I would fill the tank up and see if it starts, or at least get someone to crank so you can go into the boot and see if the pump makes any noise and then fill it up if it does.
This should make the car drivable and save you from working in the cold.
