Or similar/equivalent for spare wheel. Especially if anyone is going to the annual meet in The Lakes. Part worn in good condition totally acceptable.
Having had a bad experience with alloy repair and another one buying a tyre on eBay I'm after a known good tyre for my 20" spare wheel.
(At present I ...

Re: Auxiliary Coolant Pump
Thanks MJ, intrigued as to why the D3 unit failing makes the HVAC blow hot though.
On both my original (PF) and current (FL) S8s just disconnecting the wiring to the pump has no major side effects.
I assume the unpowered D2 pump doesn't cause an excessive obstruction or diversion.

Auxiliary Coolant Pump
Yes, that one that eventually fails and makes a horrible noise, so we disable it.
It doesn't seem to make any real difference other than the heater takes a bit longer to be effective in winter and the "Rest" function does very little.

Re: Sagging Headlight
I vaguely recall having a similar problem long ago on a Ford Focus.
First thing I did was swap the motors between the headlights as that was actually very easy.
And that proved it was the motor so I replaced it. The Audi unit looks very similar to what I remember.
Definitely worth checking if that ...

Re: My F125 journey
So the right pre-wired plugs turned up from China a few days ago, for less than £8 delivered.
I just need to join them correctly and tidily to make a handy extension lead for that £20 backup F125 from China!

Re: Rear Passenger Overhead Lights
But did you resolder the contacts on the circuit board?
That behaviour (sometimes it works, sometimes doesn't) is typical of dry solder joints - tiny movements make a difference.

Re: Rear Passenger Overhead Lights
I don't honestly remember, might only need fingers and not a lot of force, but I think one long edge is easier than the other.
Just prise it gently and it should be fairly obvious.
Edit: Just looked at mine and the rear edge pulled down using just the tips of my fingers, no tools needed!

Re: Rear Passenger Overhead Lights
I and I think others have posted about this "elsewhere". A common cause is dry solder joints inside the rear central unit.
Take it part and resolder any obvious issues on the small circuit board inside.

Re: Headlight ballast control unit.
I've never seen anything that suggests components like that need programming or coding in any way on a D2, just swap them over. But I could be wrong....

Re: My F125 journey
Good find. That will probably do the job.
Sadly not, I didn't do my research, 10-pin VAG plugs come in different sizes! DO NOT BUY THIS!

It looks like this cable used connectors 1J0 973 735 and 835 whereas I think we need 1J0 973 715 and 815.
Does anyone have the means to check ...
