That's the first UK car I've seen with factory heated steering wheel It also has the halogen headlights but headlight adjuster is blanked off, a bit odd.

The one I'm dismantling at the mo has halogens and blanked off adjuster. I assumed they'd retro-fitted the lights and couldn't be arsed to wire the switch, but maybe not, eh?

Halogens are way better than xenon pluses after 20+ years and if i were you I'd keep them. They can be fitted with bi-led and bi-xenon lenses and be as good as any modern headlights.. more info here:

If they were fitted to a car with blanked off adjuster, some electrical bodgery had to be carried out to get rid of the leveling fault warning message each time you start your car.. Levelling motors and wiring in xenons and xenon pluses are different to halogen.
Halogens and xenons also have a toggle to adjust them for European roads, so no need for nasty headlight stickers etc.

Love that article. I've made one good set out of two slightly dogged pairs of halogens. The donor had a blanking plate, and mine had had the adjuster switch butchered to fit a dimmer for those LED strips under the lights that you'd see in the early 2000's. I've ordered a switch and I'll get them wired up and functioning properly when it gets here. At that point I may look into that Xenon mod!Ronin wrote: Wed Dec 18, 2024 5:25 pm Halogens are way better than xenon pluses after 20+ years and if i were you I'd keep them.
