Dodgy Pixels and Disappearing Display

Post by Strummagnet »

Hi. Just an info post here. A good while ago I had a xmas tinsel effect on my center DIS which was finally fixed after endless searching for a company willing to take the D2 Cluster on for repair.

I found a company in Piddlehinton (Dorset) who fixed it with no issues at all. Not cheap (its a D2) but all good now and I am happy.

It was a bit ouchy at £380.00 - The DIS screen is brand new from 'somewhere in Italy'. Patryk at Totaltronics wasn't giving that info away

But, I am super happy with the result.

Do you know if these guys can fix any of the other displays? My time and date display has just started to become a bit illegible.

Yes. He can fix both. Did say the D2 is an awkward one.

If he can fix the odometer / clock then thats something of a revelation as no one has ever found those.

There's a company here listing a display as compatible with the D2, but I'm sure this is the all-red PF cluster. I'm sure the colour FL cluster has the connector on the side. Some of the American cohort are trying this display. Hopefully they aren't disappointed when they get their FL clusters open and find its the wrong part :?

I think this picture would suggest that the connectors are on both sides of the screen.
