P1602 Terminal 30

Post by Rightthen »

Hi everyone,

Hope you're all well!

She threw this code. I found what could have been bad earth where the black rubber cover of the negative lead at the battery end had exposed some copper where it meets the brown. Sorted that and reset it. It hasn't thrown the code again, but won't start. Just looking for suggestions for obvious stuff before i go on my relay/ fuse/ wiring quest

What is the actual fault message and which module is it in? If its just low voltage then that is normal if the battery has been disconnected or gone flat.

I've not got my reader handy, but I'm pretty sure it was just saying the ecu detected low voltage. I had disconnected the terminal as it had been sat for while. Ran fine when i first started up. Battery wasn't down on power. The way it stopped did feel like it had lost power, though. As in a bad earth or connection. Sputtered to a stop from a very leisurely pace. I'll check actual codes and let you know in the morning

No, but i certainly shall be. Is this a common place for problems?

Sounds more like the fuel pump tbh. Will it turn over, dash lights ok?

So, the saga goes like this.....

Replaced pump, o rings, filter, and later, the regulator on the rail. All new parts. Thought I'd cracked it with the regulator because that got her going (for 5 minutes) plus there was a nick in the big o ring when i took it off. There was fuel at the rail, no patches of anything leaked underneath that i could see or smell other than where the nick in the o ring was (very minor amount). I thought maybe the ecu code meant I'd been barking up the wrong tree, but as you say, dash lights were ok. The one other factor is that the battery light did come on when it was trying to fire and sometimes ticking over but only getting to a shakey 400rpm. After which, it was turning, but not with the power you'd expect from a new battery. Also with the battery light appearing intermittently. There's nearly a full tank so the pump housing is primed.

Those 5 minutes of cruising were glorious, though

This is a charging issue and i bet your junction box is all rotten and not making a connection.
